I am not in a box of my own making.

(Sent in and shared by a friend.)

“I am not in a box of my own making.

I am in the kingdom of heaven now and forever.

I dwell in the consciousness of divine Love — in that consciousness is no limitation, fear, restriction, lack.

In this true consciousness of God, Spirit, is ageless being, joy, harmony,  spiritual sense alone.

I am not in a box of my own making, for there truly only is one divine Mind. And this one  divine Mind knows me, loves me, cares for me.

The consciousness of God is good. The consciousness of God is harmony, peace, health, spiritual presence and power.   I dwell in heaven now and always.

I thank You for that fact,  the Truth that is true. There is no box in the kingdom of heaven. For All is infinite Mind, unlimited and eternal, and I dwell forever in this Mind.

Sent with love.

“KINGDOM OF HEAVEN. The reign of harmony in divine Science; the realm of unerring, eternal, and omnipotent Mind; the atmosphere of Spirit, where Soul is supreme.”  (Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, Mary Baker Eddy, p. 590:1)

A brand new welcome!

Thanks to our wonderful tech, web advice and talent, we have a brand new “blam”  (blog ). So let’s be sure that it’s working and that we work with it! The intent of this blog, blam, is for us to be active in our contributions, our insights, our inspirations, our suggestions, our ideas, and our joy and humor!

I love the model of the recent Pope. His prayer, compassion, love, humility, humanity, his accessibility, his intelligence, his advice, his humor made him a remarkable model for his followers, and for the world. We honor all the good that he brought.

I was wondering today, asking myself, if God knew he was the Pope! I think that’s a interesting thought. From our perspective, we know him as the loved idea, expression, of God, the child of God with all of his beautiful qualities. What he did humanly, I don’t know but what a good man he is. Isn’t that true for each of us? Does God know us as a school teacher, a parent, a dog sitter? God knows man as spiritual, the expression of Spirit. How that is expressed humanly is our choice but we are forever that idea  that child, of Love of God.

(And please forgive if these are not perfectly edited – they are thoughts. Let’s just post them as that!) And feel free to suggest people you think might enjoy being on the part of this. It is by invitation, but  we would love to be inclusive.

Go more gently…

Remember the last time you got an absolutely lovely present? It probably came wrapped in a plain brown box.  Then, after you opened the box, you  were so excited to see what was inside, you didn’t pay too much attention to the wrapping, the bow,  the care that had put it all together to begin with.  You might have missed the feeling of all that sent it in the first place.

Maybe that’s how things are with thoughts. We move so fast to get something  done  we might not enjoy the possibilities of what we’re discovering. New ideas, fresh insights. Inspirations that come with gentle unwrapping.  Instead, we move to get the problem solved or the direct goal accomplished without looking at the wrapping, all the possibilities that new ideas reveal to us.

Be more gentle with your inspirations. Let them reveal themselves to you. Gratefully unpack an idea, sit with it, – go gently with your discovery. You’ll see more beauty, and more possibilities then you could even imagine.

How can we do more effective healing work?

What if we want to do better healing? We are told to take it one step at a time.

I find this very reassuring. We don’t need any big, earth-shaking answers in order to progress in our healing work.  We are told, “For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little.”  (Isaia 28:10)  It’s step by step,  idea by idea, and a willing heart for fresh discoveries from Love. You’ll find opportunities in your day to use your discoveries. This desire is all it  takes.

On their journey to the Promised Land, the children of Israel had enough manna for each day.  So do we. We just need to use the spiritual ideas that we’re given each  moment. Healing is never a burden. Our discoveries bring us joy🩷

Please comment and share your insights. We need your voices.🩷

“A little more grace…”

“A little more grace, a motive made pure, a few truths tenderly told, a heart softened, a character subdued, a life consecrated, would restore the right action of the mental mechanism, and make manifest the movement of body and soul in accord with God.”

(Miscellaneous Writings 1883–1896, Mary Baker Eddy, p. 354:15)

I am working to live the clause, “A little more grace…” right now.

Next month, “…a motive made pure….”

A little more grace  (defined is part as:)

A little more exercise of love, kindness, mercy, favor

A little more disposition to benefit or serve another

A little more favor bestowed or privilege conferred

A little more inherent excellence

A little more beauty, physical, intellectual, or moral

A little more loveliness.

A little more easy elegance of manners.

A little more perfection of form.

A little more forbearance to inflict harm under circumstances of provocation, when one has the power to inflict it; compassionate treatment of an offender or adversary; clemency.

A little more compassionate treatment of the unfortunate and helpless

A little more elegance

Elegance can be by an art, skill, or training; as, elegance of manners, composition, handwriting, etc.

A little more disposition to exercise compassion or favor;

A little more  willingness to spare or to help.

A little more courtesy

A little more merit, virtue, excellence, value

A little more dignity or honor.

Today has need of thee

Hi dearest ones,

It’s time for us to come together, be in touch, and, as the Bible Lesson says, “love one another.”   I think you would all agree. We need each other.

What is inspiring you?  What is challenging you?  Where do you find strength and joy?  How is God leading you?

Let’s  be together, share our inspirations, our love, our challenges, our questions, our discoveries.  We will find  that what supports our own progress will  strengthen and support the spiritual progress that our world so very much needs right now.

Please join in with brief comments or slices of inspiration, something that makes your day! And, if you would like to include others just let me know.

So much love and gratitude for each of you!  Pam

Here’s a hymn from the hymnal that I think speaks to us.

Abide not in the realm of dreams, O man, however fair it seems; But with clear eye the present scan, And hear the call of God and man.

“Think not in sleep to fold thy hands, Forgetful of thy Lord’s commands: From duty’s claims no life is free, Behold, today hath need of thee.

“The present hour allots thy task, For present strength and patience ask; And trust His love whose sure supply Meets all thy need abundantly”.

Good morning from Jerusalem

Just an update and a big hug from this far part of the world! Every day moves fast in this journey! From a beautiful boat ride on the sea of Galilee to visits to the walled city in Jerusalem, to time spent in the Garden of Gethsemane, and a visit to Bethlehem, -all remind us of Jesus’ love, dedication, faithfulness, strength, courage. Things are moving quickly, and time for journal writing doesn’t seem to be uppermost. But I’ll send some photos soon and I’m sending so much love now,  for each one of you! Thank you Jennifer for posting your beautiful healing. It’s a complete remembrance of why Jesus did what he did, and of what Mrs. Eddy gave to the world by understanding his life and his works. Let’s  all of us stay faithful and grateful and dedicated. If I haven’t learned anything I’ve learned how much the world needs what we have been given and what we can share. I love you all !

“Joy Cometh in the Morning”

By Jennifer Jones

I had quite an inspired moment one morning recently. The October 3-9 Bible lesson featured a portion of Psalm 30. I was inspired to open my Bible and read the entire Psalm and was delighted with this familiar phrase “… weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.”

I felt suddenly plunged into an ocean of gratitude and joy. The sun shone through the lace curtains, my Christian Science reading material surrounded me, my morning tea was comforting, and all was well. I thought about all my blessings, all my loving friends, my happy and blessed way of life, and was overcome with joy.

Verse 2 of Psalm 30 reads “O Lord my God, I cried unto thee, and thou hast healed me.” That inspired me to reflect on my healing of pneumonia this past summer. After nearly three weeks in the hospital, it felt like a mountain of love destroyed a wall of fear and mortal medical opinions, and restored my breathing. The powerful work of a loving Christian Science practitioner ensured my release.

After a sweet 2 1/2 week rehab at the home of a loving Christian Science friend, I was able to manage the staircase and return home. Now back to my usual activities, including playing the ukulele, it is delightful to play and sing favorite hymns.

So grateful, I find myself inspired to expand my Christian Science reading, study and prayer, and to learn and play more hymns.   Joy DOES cometh in the morning (and at other times too)! ♥️
