How can we do more effective healing work?

What if we want to do better healing? We are told to take it one step at a time.

I find this very reassuring. We don’t need any big, earth-shaking answers in order to progress in our healing work.  We are told, “For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little.”  (Isaia 28:10)  It’s step by step,  idea by idea, and a willing heart for fresh discoveries from Love. You’ll find opportunities in your day to use your discoveries. This desire is all it  takes.

On their journey to the Promised Land, the children of Israel had enough manna for each day.  So do we. We just need to use the spiritual ideas that we’re given each  moment. Healing is never a burden. Our discoveries bring us joy🩷

Please comment and share your insights. We need your voices.🩷

“A little more grace…”

“A little more grace, a motive made pure, a few truths tenderly told, a heart softened, a character subdued, a life consecrated, would restore the right action of the mental mechanism, and make manifest the movement of body and soul in accord with God.”

(Miscellaneous Writings 1883–1896, Mary Baker Eddy, p. 354:15)

I am working to live the clause, “A little more grace…” right now.

Next month, “…a motive made pure….”

A little more grace  (defined is part as:)

A little more exercise of love, kindness, mercy, favor

A little more disposition to benefit or serve another

A little more favor bestowed or privilege conferred

A little more inherent excellence

A little more beauty, physical, intellectual, or moral

A little more loveliness.

A little more easy elegance of manners.

A little more perfection of form.

A little more forbearance to inflict harm under circumstances of provocation, when one has the power to inflict it; compassionate treatment of an offender or adversary; clemency.

A little more compassionate treatment of the unfortunate and helpless

A little more elegance

Elegance can be by an art, skill, or training; as, elegance of manners, composition, handwriting, etc.

A little more disposition to exercise compassion or favor;

A little more  willingness to spare or to help.

A little more courtesy

A little more merit, virtue, excellence, value

A little more dignity or honor.

Today has need of thee

Hi dearest ones,

It’s time for us to come together, be in touch, and, as the Bible Lesson says, “love one another.”   I think you would all agree. We need each other.

What is inspiring you?  What is challenging you?  Where do you find strength and joy?  How is God leading you?

Let’s  be together, share our inspirations, our love, our challenges, our questions, our discoveries.  We will find  that what supports our own progress will  strengthen and support the spiritual progress that our world so very much needs right now.

Please join in with brief comments or slices of inspiration, something that makes your day! And, if you would like to include others just let me know.

So much love and gratitude for each of you!  Pam

Here’s a hymn from the hymnal that I think speaks to us.

Abide not in the realm of dreams, O man, however fair it seems; But with clear eye the present scan, And hear the call of God and man.

“Think not in sleep to fold thy hands, Forgetful of thy Lord’s commands: From duty’s claims no life is free, Behold, today hath need of thee.

“The present hour allots thy task, For present strength and patience ask; And trust His love whose sure supply Meets all thy need abundantly”.

Good morning from Jerusalem

Just an update and a big hug from this far part of the world! Every day moves fast in this journey! From a beautiful boat ride on the sea of Galilee to visits to the walled city in Jerusalem, to time spent in the Garden of Gethsemane, and a visit to Bethlehem, -all remind us of Jesus’ love, dedication, faithfulness, strength, courage. Things are moving quickly, and time for journal writing doesn’t seem to be uppermost. But I’ll send some photos soon and I’m sending so much love now,  for each one of you! Thank you Jennifer for posting your beautiful healing. It’s a complete remembrance of why Jesus did what he did, and of what Mrs. Eddy gave to the world by understanding his life and his works. Let’s  all of us stay faithful and grateful and dedicated. If I haven’t learned anything I’ve learned how much the world needs what we have been given and what we can share. I love you all !

“Joy Cometh in the Morning”

By Jennifer Jones

I had quite an inspired moment one morning recently. The October 3-9 Bible lesson featured a portion of Psalm 30. I was inspired to open my Bible and read the entire Psalm and was delighted with this familiar phrase “… weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.”

I felt suddenly plunged into an ocean of gratitude and joy. The sun shone through the lace curtains, my Christian Science reading material surrounded me, my morning tea was comforting, and all was well. I thought about all my blessings, all my loving friends, my happy and blessed way of life, and was overcome with joy.

Verse 2 of Psalm 30 reads “O Lord my God, I cried unto thee, and thou hast healed me.” That inspired me to reflect on my healing of pneumonia this past summer. After nearly three weeks in the hospital, it felt like a mountain of love destroyed a wall of fear and mortal medical opinions, and restored my breathing. The powerful work of a loving Christian Science practitioner ensured my release.

After a sweet 2 1/2 week rehab at the home of a loving Christian Science friend, I was able to manage the staircase and return home. Now back to my usual activities, including playing the ukulele, it is delightful to play and sing favorite hymns.

So grateful, I find myself inspired to expand my Christian Science reading, study and prayer, and to learn and play more hymns.   Joy DOES cometh in the morning (and at other times too)! ♥️

What is your most inspired moment?

What is your most inspired moment? Because the world needs it. What has your quiet, calm listening assured you of? Because the world needs it. Take out your daily journal and write your entry: “Today I saw…” “Today I knew…”. “Today I felt…”. “Today I understood more clearly than ever…. Thank you, Father!”Because the world needs you, your discovery, your inspired life.

You don’t have to publish it for the world. You have to feel it within. You don’t have to tell anybody, but realize you have been loved and instructed by your God, the Source of your being.  Acknowledge it, feel it, honor it, and live your day, your life, with your conviction of the absolute truth of what has been given to you, individually, as the very expression of God.

Receptive thought receives inspiration. The Bible Lesson this week says, “Prepare ye the Way of the Lord!”  Or, “Prepare the way for the Lord’s coming! Clear the road for him!” (NLT)

How do we do that? Not with parades, or banners, or drums. But with a receptive heart that turns to our God with humility, meekness, leaving all the noise and clutter for the calm, clear presence of divine Love, divine Mind as our consciousness. God is, and we are, one as His idea. Just receive that, rest in that, note that, save it, and live from that precious understanding.

What a more peaceful, healing, beautiful life you’ll experience. Regardless of the human conditions around you. Get quiet, let your God love you, listen for His voice, His guidance. It comes in quietness and confidence. It comes in love, peaceful relationships, provision, protection. Life is most wonderful when we work from that standpoint.

Depart from fear of evil, and understand good; and dwell for evermore.

“Depart from evil, and do good; and dwell for evermore.” * Let’s add another strong  dimension of thought to this scriptural instruction: Depart from fear of evil, and understand the power and presence of good, God, and dwell for evermore. The  Message Bible says “Turn your back on evil, work for the good and don’t quit.”

Today the world seems overrun with experiences of evil, hurricanes, fires, floods, wars. Each one of us is praying earnestly, and with conviction, to understand the power of the presence of God, good right where evil seems to be.  As we each see the unreality of evil, we will see the reality of God, ever-present good. Find this good in your life, acknowledge the good that God is, and reach out with your prayer to embrace our world, to understand the government of our Father-Mother for each and everyone. Let’s love God good, more than we are tempted to fear evil.

Let’s do this today and realize everyone is in the wake of divine Love, right where the fear is. We can do as Mrs. Eddy did in the face of storms, – she would pray to see the face of God until that was all she saw, and the storm could dissipate. Let’s see God, good, the face of God, right where evil claims to be. Let’s do this loving prayer today.

*Psalms 37:27

There is always a solution. There is always an answer….

….and there is always healing.

We will see the answer; humble prayer will give us a solution, and it will bless everyone.  For me, this is the premise, the basis of thought. I set this conviction forth before anything else. It begins my prayer. I declare this truth to be true.

In this week’s Bible Lens, we can read that faith and trust underlie all our prayers for help. What is required is bold affirmation of God‘s reign while simultaneously waiting patiently. Waiting patiently brings with it a depth of trust and commitment to God’s government. We learn, through patient waiting to be expectant of God’s grace and God’s love, evidenced in an adjustment of whatever seems to need adjusting.  Jesus taught his disciples to have more faith in the Christ than in their own opinions or wisdom. We must do the same. Patient waiting with faith often reveals to us what needs to be removed or released. Patient waiting brings active revelation.

Our God is available every time we turn with a need in prayer. Turn to your God expectant of guidance, with such love for God, that you know good is the only result. When in doubt, love God more than you fear the problem or the need.

Be that disciple of Christ Jesus by loving God, and you will feel God loving you. There is an answer, a solution, and a healing in your spiritually alert understanding. Christ Jesus lived his love for God in every moment of his day and his life.  He knew and trusted the depth of that relationship for good everywhere he moved, in every place, every relationship, every need. Can we?
